The name Zhau Hua Xi Shi is a quote from Lu Xun. Literally, 'Zhau' 'Hua' is 'morning' and 'flowers' and 'Xi' Shi' means 'evening' and 'to pick' respectively.

By picking flowers which bloom in the morning, metaphorically, one recalls the past.

Founded by local floral artist and Japanese cuisine chef, ZHXS is the first themed restaurant in Hong Kong which creates and serves floral cuisine.

Running both retail and catering sections, ZHXS aims to achieve a complementary effect which creates an environment where customers can "taste flowers, drink flowers, buy flowers and learn about flowers".

ZHXS uses fresh edible flowers and herbs which are imported from Europe and America twice a week. From flavour to plating, floral elements are incomporated  in all dish, stimulating customers' multiple senses with the gentleness and sharpness of flowers at once.
